What is AWS? Traditional V/S Cloud Computing
Traditionally, deploying a website or online service required setting up and managing your servers, which could be a complex and costly process. You often had to predict your infrastructure needs in advance, which could lead to overestimating user demand and wasting resources. This is where Cloud Computing comes into play. It offers a flexible solution by providing scalable services that adapt to your actual needs, helping to reduce unnecessary infrastructure costs. This approach is commonly known as the "Pay As You Go" model, where you only pay for what you use, making it both cost-effective and efficient.
Types of Services?
Cloud platforms offer three main service models: IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), and SaaS (Software as a Service). Below is a simple illustration that clarifies which services are included under each model, helping to eliminate any confusion. illustration (RDS is known to be the services of the AWS for the PAAS)
Types of cloud
Cloud environments can be classified into three types: Public Cloud, Private Cloud, and Hybrid Cloud. A Public Cloud is accessible via the internet and is offered by third-party providers to multiple users, making it a widely available option. On the other hand, a Private Cloud is dedicated to a single organization and is accessed through a secure intranet, requiring the appropriate credentials for use. Hybrid Cloud combines both Public and Private Clouds, allowing organizations to share data and applications between these environments for greater flexibility and resource optimization.
AWS pricing
AWS typically charges based on three main factors: Compute (CPU utilization), Storage (the amount of data stored), and Data Transfer (the cost of uploading or downloading data).
Region and Zones
Local Zones
They offer single-digit latency to users in specific areas, such as the local zone in Delhi. Certain target services are available within these local zones.
